Tesla Opens Cybertruck Orders Across Europe

AUSTIN, Texas — Tesla opened Cybertruck orders across Europe on Thursday, letting reservation holders in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Norway and the Netherlands configure the stainless-steel pickup for the first time, with deliveries slated to begin in early 2027.

The move caps a lengthy homologation effort to adapt the angular truck, originally engineered for North American rules, to European pedestrian-safety and lighting standards. Tesla said the European Cybertruck keeps the exoskeleton design and 48-volt architecture that define the U.S. model while adding softened front-edge radii, revised side mirrors and region-specific lighting to satisfy regulators.

A Continent-Ready Pickup

European buyers will choose from the dual-motor All-Wheel Drive and tri-motor Cyberbeast configurations, both built on the 4680 cell pack and tuned for the company's V4 Supercharger network. The dual-motor version targets a WLTP range near 530 kilometers, while the Cyberbeast trades some range for a sub-three-second sprint to 100 km/h. Tesla said the trucks underwent extended cold-weather and towing validation in Norway to ready them for Northern European winters.

Order books opened first to existing European reservation holders, many of whom placed deposits years ago, before widening to the public in the coming weeks. Pricing starts in the mid-€80,000s for the AWD trim, positioning the Cybertruck above Tesla's recently expanded passenger lineup, including the lower-cost Model Y Standard that broadened the brand's reach this month.

Clearing the Regulatory Path

Bringing the Cybertruck to Europe required years of engineering changes, and Tesla leaned on regulatory groundwork it has been laying across the region. The company detailed the updated specifications and compliance package on its official Cybertruck page, which now lists European configurations alongside the North American build.

The launch also rides the momentum of Tesla's broader European software strategy. The automaker's decision to rebrand Full Self-Driving as "assisted driving" to speed EU approval is expected to help the Cybertruck ship with the company's latest driver-assistance stack where local rules allow.

Demand Looks Strong

Tesla has not disclosed European reservation totals, but executives have pointed to a multi-year backlog of deposits on the Continent. Initial European trucks will be imported from Gigafactory Texas, with the company evaluating whether its Berlin-Brandenburg plant could eventually take on Cybertruck-related work as volume climbs.

For a market long skeptical that the polarizing pickup would ever meet its rules, Thursday's order opening marks a turning point. If early-2027 deliveries hold, the Cybertruck will arrive just as Tesla's European charging and service footprint reaches its widest point yet, giving the company its most distinctive product to sell into one of the world's most demanding auto markets.
